Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This policy explains what the Loopy iOS app (“Loopy”, “we”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. Loopy is made by Tal Zvi. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].
We don't ask you to create an account
Loopy has no sign-up, no login and no password. We don't ask for your name, your address or your phone number, and we don't build a profile tied to your real-world identity.
What stays on your device
Your crafting data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad and is not uploaded to us:
- Row and round counts, and which projects you've started or finished
- Saved and favourited projects
- Lesson progress
- App settings, such as your language and whether you crochet left- or right-handed
Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
What we and our providers collect
Usage and diagnostic data
We collect anonymous information about how the app is used — which screens are opened, which lessons and projects are viewed, and technical details such as your device model, operating system version, app version, language and country. We use this to see what's working, find crashes and decide what to build next. It is not used to identify you personally.
Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details — Apple handles the transaction. We use Adapty to verify receipts and manage subscription status, which means Adapty processes your purchase history, a randomly generated app user identifier and basic device information on our behalf.
Advertising and attribution
Loopy includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK so we can measure whether our ads bring people to the app. On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow tracking across apps and websites:
- If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your device's advertising identifier is not shared, and measurement is limited to aggregated, non-identifying signals.
- If you allow tracking, limited event data — such as app installs and purchases — may be shared with Meta and linked to your advertising identifier for attribution and ad measurement.
You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we may send occasional reminders and updates about new patterns and lessons. You can turn them off in iOS Settings at any time, and doing so doesn't affect anything else in the app.
Messages you send us
If you email support or submit feedback, a pattern suggestion or a bug report, we keep what you send us — including your email address — so we can reply and act on it.
Who else your data goes to
We don't sell your data and we don't share it with anyone beyond the providers that make the app work:
- Apple — app distribution, payments, subscription management and crash reporting
- Adapty — subscription and receipt management
- Meta Platforms — advertising measurement, subject to your tracking choice above
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of this website and the app's lesson videos
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Children
Loopy is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including the EEA and UK under the GDPR, and California under the CCPA — you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because Loopy has no account system, the fastest route for most data is to delete the app, which removes everything stored on your device. For anything held by us or our providers, email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Data retention and security
We keep usage data only as long as it's useful for improving the app, and support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your issue and keep a record of it. Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect precisely so there is little to expose.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
